Case Studies the stories of success

Design initiatives originate from diverse motivations, ranging from emerging market opportunities and user input to aesthetic considerations and prevailing trends. The key to their success lies in comprehending the metrics that hold significance for the client and the underlying rationale behind them. The case studies presented here encapsulate the evolutionary journey of the design process, offering valuable insights into the complexities involved.

NASCAR

This project was a collaborative endeavor between Artemis Engineering and my firm, Forge Industrial Design, with the objective of developing training technology for NASCAR. Recognizing the need to enhance awareness of pit crew performance, we were tasked with conceptualizing and fabricating an on-board recording device capable of providing a live stream. The primary goal was to equip pit crews with real-time coaching, as well as the ability to review and assess their performance. This project exemplifies the principles of adaptability and iterative design. We were contracted to conduct research, specify appropriate technology, procure necessary parts, and deliver fully functional prototypes ready for testing within a 30-day timeframe. Based on feedback received, we subsequently executed a second design cycle in order to optimize weight distribution and enhance safety. I personally assumed responsibility for the 3D design, development, styling, and construction of all prototypes

Allen Company

Upon being approached by the Allen Company, a prominent manufacturer of outdoor sportsman products, we collaboratively engaged with their Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Our shared objective was to discern existing market gaps and uncover emergent opportunities. Our designated role involved developing conceptual work and delivering comprehensive control drawings for Request for Quotation (RFQ) purposes. Within the initial two years of our partnership, we successfully provided Allen with over 250 concepts. Additionally, we constructed multiple prototypes, developed colorways, and contributed to the creation of marketing and sales materials. This collaborative relationship serves as a testament to the efficient, productive, and value-added services we rendered, effectively aiding in the expansion and refinement of their market presence.
